Webcameron BETA launches
Posted by Head 30th September 2006 in NewsWe’ve been so busy we forgot to mention that we’ve been working for the Conservatives on a top secret project, Webcameron. We’ve just launched a beta of the site in time for the Conservative conference on the 1st October.
The site combines some major aspects of blogs, video-sharing sites such as YouTube , photo-sharing sites such as Flickr , and other social networking sites to provide a collaborative space for political discussion and the presentation of ideas. Members of the public can register and post blog content immediately. They can also contribute to and share content from a media library consisting of video, photos and audio. The media library allows users to display and comment on other peoples’ media contributions from within their own blog posts.
Besides featuring David Cameron’s personal blog, the site will also display contributions from a selected list of “special guest bloggers”, as well as members of the public.
We’ll be working on the site over the coming months and releasing lots of cool new features. Although we haven’t yet built them, we will be working on a series of interactive widgets that will allow users to embed content from the Webcameron site in their own blogs. These will include a tag cloud that reflects the current state of tags on the Webcameron site.
